Motor Housing
2026-07-09
The motor housing of electric vehicles is typically made of aluminum alloy and demands high dimensional and positional accuracy. Given the relatively large size and depth of the components, PCD (polycrystalline diamond) combination tools are generally employed in a single setup to complete the machining process.
Electric vehicle air-conditioning systems commonly use aluminum-alloy scroll compressors. Machining the orbiting and fixed scroll components requires stringent perpendicularity tolerances, and the scroll walls are thin-walled, difficult-to-machine features. The development of PCD form-milling cutters has effectively addressed this challenge.
