For desktop PCs and laptops, the main machining processes required for printed circuit boards (PCBs) are cutting, chamfering, and drilling.
PCD V‑cut blades are used for cutting PCBs, offering high machining efficiency, long tool life, and excellent cut quality; they have replaced carbide tools as the preferred choice.

PCD V‑groove cutters are used for chamfering.

For drilling, diamond‑coated carbide drill bits are employed. Drilling of PCB boards is the most workload‑intensive operation among all processing steps. Given that the minimum hole diameter is only 0.2 mm, the drills employed are typically solid carbide micro‑drills. To extend tool life, a diamond coating is applied, which imparts high machining precision and prolonged durability to the drill. These PCB drills are available in a series with cutting‑edge diameters ranging from 0.20 mm to 6.50 mm and a uniform shank diameter of 3.175 mm.
