Automotive brake discs are made of cast iron HT250. For rough turning, solid polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) inserts (CNMN120616-NS) are used, offering high efficiency, low cost, and stable process reliability. For finish turning, either solid PCBN inserts or brazed‑tip PCBN inserts (TNGA160408) are employed, which provide high machining efficiency, low cost, good surface roughness, and excellent surface brightness on the finished component.
